about

Waters is a suite inspired by the Ocean. It builds musical instant pictures suggesting landscapes, a journey or a story without words. Some real life recordings are included, in this case seashore or lakeshore excerpts. As I usually do, I keep the mastering stage as light as possible, with minimum compression focused on bass control.

The journey starts with a piece of "motionless" music, about the eternity of the sea waves and tides. There's no real beginning or end.

Next stop is by the shore, an island maybe, lost in the sea and inhabited by ancient creatures, ghosts haunting the beach at night, motionless in the first part, starting to dance when the sun rises in the second part.

Below the island lies a different world, where tides fill the deep sea caves and free those who live in the mud when the tide is low.

The journey takes us then in the abyss, where no life seems to be possible in such a quiet setting. However, if you stop moving, strange creatures will begin to walk on the sea floor, dancing a beautifull ballet!

The journey ends at the surface, where danger lies in the distance: the rogue wave, a watery fortress, will suddenly destroy everything on its way, leaving wrecks and wounded souls. When the storm is gone, the soothing nature of a calm sea will heal the wounds...
